Has anyone put one on their Mini? Through a friend, I may be able to get one cheap and I've wondered if anyone has tried this setup and I'm wondering how well it works?

I was going to get one of those awesome scopes, but my wife said it was more important to feed the family....pffftt.

They are nice but WOW are they sure expensive.

I have a TA01 on a LaRue mount and it kicks butt. It was one of the first quality optics I bought and I couldn't believe the difference in light transmission and clarity. That being said, I haven’t tried it on my Mini. If you have the $$$, and don’t have anything better to do with it, I think they are worth it. I got mine at Rainier Arms several years ago and it was pushing $700 back then.

I've seen them take some pretty knarly abuse and keep poa. I've also seen some incredible shots with them being used.

If I had the $$ I'd buy one.

How are you going to mount it? Thats the weak point for use on a mini IMO. If you use a rail then you're raising the optic alot and if you use the ruger mount you havevto remove the rear sight. I suppose you could duct tape a cheek piece to the stock like the m14s in use now.

I use a rail that attaches to the Ruger factory ring attachment slots. I have not used a Trijicon scope, but I have used an EOTech, and several different low fixed power and variable scopes with no problems.

If you are referring to the 'classic' acog (TA31), I would say that on a conventional Mini, you'd need a picatinny rail to mount it on. With the rails available this scope will mount too far forward, and also too high. The only way I can see it is practical to mount a TA31 on the mini is if you have the Troy stock (which gives you a 'flat top' picatinny rail all the way back).

The regular ACOG (TA31) will mount too far forward due to the short eye relief.
This is what it looks like on my Ruger, and as you can see it's too high and too far forward. To get a good sight picture I would actually need to hava a stock that is 3-4" shorter with this setup.
