Greeting to all- I've been thinking hard about getting a Para-Ordnance P-13/45 . It looks like a nice pistol. Commander length barrel{4.25 inches}plus the added capicity of 13+1 rounds of the potent .45acp round. Any help would be appreciated. :D :usa:

I don't have experience with this particular model but I have heard little negative about the quality of the Para Ordinance products. I assume the magazine is staggared to get 13 rounds so I would make sure my hands were big enough to control the weapon - ask them to try it out on a range.

I had one for a time and liked it. But in the long run, I'm a die hard D/A wheel gun guy. So I traded it for another toy. My mag. would only hold 12 rounds. I found that I could get good Megar mags for about $20.00. Granted they where only 10 rounders. But I could buy 3 of them for the price of one fact. 13 rounder. The Megars worked very well. You can't go wrong with the P-13. Like one of my S.F. buddies told me. Para makes some very good paint ball guns.

I have a P14 LDA and have been favorably impressed by it. I think you would be doing well to get one of the P13s in the 'Limited' series rather than the standard.I personally think that while the extra capacity is nice (never heard of anybody complain of having too much ammo is needed) it is not needed. That is what they make extra mags for. If you didn't do what you needed to do in the first 7-8 rounds of 45, I hope you have backup on the way. You can't MISS your target often enough or quick enough to be effective!!!!!!

I've got the P14*45 LDA.

Out of the box, the trigger has to be tried to be believed! I've had this gun for several years now and I belive this is one instance where the facts match all the hyperbole. I'd recommend the LDA to anyone with 2 caveats:

1) it's a double stacker and takes a bit of getting used to. If you have really small hands you will probably not be comfortable with the slightly wider grip - and being a double stacker, it isn't as thin as my Kimber

2) when carrying this piece loaded to capacity, the extra weight is obvious compared to my Kimber fully loaded with a McCormick 8 round mag.

How does it shoot? Offhand at 30 yards I can get groups that measure just over an inch. Once, over at the 1881 Ranch, Curly (decorated USMC Korean vet and our ranch caretaker) walked up as I was loading a magazine. Looking at the target, a 15" circle - cowboy shooting target at ~30 yards, he snickered "You ain't gonna shoot that from here? You shoot a 45 at like 7 or 10 yards...." Being a smart-a$$ I sez "Sure, Curly. Us Cowboy Action shooters do this all the time" as I chambered a round and offhand, emptied the mag into the target as fast as I could pull the trigger......... and without a miss. Curly just stood there kind of slack jawed. He's now convinced that I'm some kind of 21st century Bill Hickok. The real truth here is the Para-Ord is a tack driving machine! It makes you look good.

ParaOrdnance also impressed me with their customer service. Every email correspondance with them has been answered within hours - and with valid information or answers to my questions.

Last of all, back when I bought mine (several Novembers ago), I sent in copies of the 4473 forms and got 2 14 round mags. The following March (I think) I got a letter from Para stating that "about the time" I bought mine, Para was starting a new promotion: buy a P14 and get two free 10 round mags and I'd just missed out on it. The letter went on to say that if I'd send in copies of my 4473s, they'd be happy to send me 2 10 round mags free of charge. That's a company that goes out of it's way to serve the customer - a rare thing these days.

And that's what I know about Para. IMHO they're an excellent outfit that produces an A-1 product.

I would also recommend the Limited edition p13. You get alot of good stuff for the money. Some dealers are now including the hicaps with the gun so you dont have to send anything in to get the hicaps from Para Ordnance.

I just bought a Tac-Four. Nice gun. Great trigger pull and seems to be accurate. I took it shooting a couple of days ago. Fed all types of ammo and very nice to shoot. I also have a Kimber and would carry the Kimber over the Tac-Four just due to the weight.
