Thanks for the votes of confidence !

I would see it as a high honor to serve the members of the PU forums.

I have always tried to be impartial in my daily life and feel it would serve me well as a tool here.

I will check in daily and listen to any recomendations from the members.

My main goal would be to keep the threads in order, no posting political stuff in the mini 14 threads and so on.

I do not think being better organized would infringe on any members 1st amendment rights.

I do have some back ground in firearms and the shooting sports so I feel invested in the subjects.

This is a great site and it is invaluable for new shooters as well as old vets of the lifestyle.

I'd do my best for the members and if it becomes too much I'll opt out but not without warning.

I wish to thank those who have voiced their opinions on the selecting of a moderator position.

Be well my Armed Brothers.

Sadly for me, the Neanderthal and Sasquatch turnout was extremely low. Even Carp got more fishy votes! So now I must throw my support to humans, Jesse and that guy who farted. Best of luck, guys.

I hope some trashy threads will be removed, some are shameful to all on this site.

Thumbs up Thanks to all who cared enough !

I wish to thank all my armed Brothers here for your support and input on the moderation process.

I guess I am your new Mod, please feel free to PM me with your concerns and I'll do my best to answer your PM's with in 24 hours at the most.

I'll be checking in daily and if you PM me after 9PM I'll get back to you the following day.

This site is only as good as the members involved and I know this place has meant so much to me, I have learned so much about the weapons I own and shoot and also about weapons I'll probably never own (big $$$$ firearms) but I still love learning about them all the same, I have learned how to fix issues on my firearms and when I first arrived I had so many questions and Folks I didn't even know gave of their time and knowledge to help me navigate my way and in doing so saved me a boat load of money on gun smiths !

I have called you my Armed Brothers because to me you are, you men are not just some screen name to me, I actually care about all of your lives as well.

I hope I can serve you all with Honor, dignity and respect.
Jess Red Horse.

Jess, not making fun, Redbone was one of the most successful Native American rock bands and Come And Get Your Love is one of my favorite records. We lost Lolly Vegas but I think Pat is still alive. I hope redbone is not a derogatory term to you, I did not mean it that way.

To those of you who may not know. There is a little triangle with an exclamation point in it below your info. That is how you report a post. Those posts will be flagged in a moderator area and we can see them.

The mods should also receive an email alerting them to a report. This is going to be the easiest way for us to stay on top of things.

I remember Redbone from when I was a kid, did not know they were Native American.

December 29th, 2009 - Tony Bellamy, lead guitarist of the Native American rock group Redbone, has passed away. The Native American Music Awards (N.A.M.A.) organization reported Bellamy died on Christmas morning in Las Vegas, Nevada with his family by his side. Anthony, or Tony "T-Bone" Bellamy, who was inducted into the N.A.M.A. Hall of Fame with Redbone in 2008 at the Tenth Annual Native American Music Awards, was a Mexican-American Yaqui Indian who became the lead guitarist, pianist and vocalist for the Native American band, Redbone. He was a beloved and endearing friend of the "Nammys" since its inception, and will be greatly missed. Redbone became established as a Native American rock group in the 1970s. They reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1974 with the hit song, "Come and Get Your Love." http://www.youtube.com/v/-7eloXr2iak Originally formed in 1969 in Los Angeles, California by brothers Patrick Vasquez (bass and vocals) and Lolly Vasquez (guitar and vocals), the name Redbone started as a joking reference to a Cajun term for a mixed-race person. The band's members were of mixed blood ancestry. According to Patrick Vasquez aka Pat Vegas, it was Jimi Hendrix who talked the musicians into forming an all-Native American rock group and so they signed as the band Redbone to Epic Records in 1969. The band consisted of Patrick Vasquez, Lolly Vasquez, drummer Pete DePoe and Anthony "Tony" Bellamy. Their debut album Redbone was released in 1970. Redbone played primarily rock music with R&B, Cajun, Jazz, tribal and Latin roots. http://www.redbone.be/video.html Their first commercial success was with the single, "Maggie" from their second album, Potlatch, in 1970. Two other hit singles would follow; "The Witch Queen of New Orleans" in 1971, which went to #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, and their greatest hit song to date, "Come and Get Your Love" in 1974, which went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Come and Get Your Love", stayed in the Billboard charts for 24 weeks, and was awarded a gold disc by the R.I.A.A. on April 22, 1974. Tony Bellamy grew up in a family of dancers and musicians and learned to play the flamenco guitar as part of his musical education. Before joining the band Redbone, Tony Bellamy had performed with Dobie Gray, and a was a member of the San Francisco band, Peter and the Wolves, that evolved into the psychedelic band Moby Grape. In 1998, Tony Bellamy and Patrick Vasquez attended and performed as Redbone at the First Native American Music Awards held at the Foxwoods Casino & Resort. On October 3, 2008, Tony Bellamy and Patrick Vasquez attended the 10th Annual Native American Music Awards at the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY as special guests to accept Redbone's induction into the N.A.M.A. Hall of Fame. Born as Anthony Avila, Tony Bellamy died at age 69. N.A.M.A. and its Advisory Board contingency would like extend their condolences to the Bellamy family. N.A.M.A. will forever honor this legendary performer who has been both a leading force in the mainstream music industry and an inspiration to the Native American community.

If that's the worst I get called then it is a good day...LOL!

Of course I know all the Native musicians work, I was raised on traditional and then later contemporary Native music, that is what inspired me to do Native music, I was lucky enough to be able to do Native music concerts all over the USA, Ireland, England and Scotland when I toured with the Native group Ce'La'Ke. as the lead Native Flutist.

The loss of Tony Bellamy was felt all through out our community, another NA artist gone too soon.

So let me get this straight. We have a new mod here in JRH. I called him out back in the day for quitting and then personally apologized to him online right here on PU for all to see. We have the PU owner Kev (who's real name I will not reveal) that can not even manage his own his own website. Personally I thought that JRH was dealing with his wife's health issues and travelling around the country teaching Indian folklore and was in the process of packing up and moving to Florida and I find it odd that he has now found the time to become a full time paid mod on PU. I smell something and it ain't good and I've always been right 100% of the time when something doesn't smell good.

Good Luck JRH!

Well my Armed Brother, we have gotten through both my wife's surgery and my double hand surgery.

I had to come in off the road when she got ill and I was having issues with my hands, and when she was better I sent her down to FL to pick a home for us, while she was there the humidity attacked her RA and blew her up like a puffa fish so FL was out of the question.

As it stands today our home in NH is up for sale and we have been looking at larger homes in NH where she will not have the over powering humidity issues.

So until we actually have to move I have time to spen a few hours a day helping out here, with that said, Thanks for wishing me luck because I can use all I can get at this point in life.
