Fiber Optic Sight for Minis

Does anyone know if fiber optic sights, particularly the front sight, exist for the Minis? Don

I have been unable to find one made specifically for the Minis, however, there is a way to do it. I put a XS 24/7 on my Mini 14 which mounts a barrel band with a dovetail out front. When I cut my barrel down and moved the sight back it made the front blade too tall, and I can't grind it down without breaking the tritium vial. Drifted that sight out of the dovetail and replaced it with a Marble's 3/8 dovetail front sight with a green fiber optic dot.... Long way to get there, and not cheap.

I've been in contact with XS Sights about twice a year since I bought my 580 (tapered barrel) Mini-14 in 2008. Every time they say they are "just about to release" a tritium "winged" front sight just like the factory one.

And every time I check their website, none exists.

They've now stopped returning my e-mails and phone calls.

I just ordered one of the M14 style AMK fiber optic sights for my rifle. I'll post pics when I get in in and mounted.

I'd like to get one of the new factory "winged" front sights for my older 195 series to replace the thick blade type. Just wondering if it would fit. It's my understanding these new sights were standard on Mini's after 2006. The barrel diameter near the muzzle of the post 2006 Mini's should be the same as older ones right ? And maybe the post 2008 models as well, I'm thinking they are only fatter till just after the gas block, then taper down.
gunslinger, what series is the Mini you ordered the AMK M14 style sight for ?

Mines a 581 series. The AMKs fit 580 and newer. Tell ya what Sandog, if the AMK fits without problem, I'll give you my old winged sight. That way if it doesn't fit you won't be out anything.
