I found a very nice leather Springfield Armory sling. Bought it at discount. Got it home and discovered that it was not going to fit without lots of effort and oil. Managed to put the long loop together but can't fit the frog or the doubled portion and d ring through the d ring at the butt.
Can anyone suggest a set of swivels/d rings that I can use to replace the factory hardware to accept this 1.25 sling?
Uncle Mike's has 1 1/4" sling swivel sets. You can get them from just about any gun accessory catalog. Try Midway USA (use their search function for part # 774577 in blue or 331116 for silver. Costs about $9
It appears the front d-ring is attached to the gas block with no visible screw. Have you or anyone suggestions on how to make the substitution. I think I can figure out the rear sub.
Uncle Mike's might make a QD swivel for that. The factory one is pressed in. Its either that or drill a hole in the forearm, under the liner, and mount one there. Make sure it doesn't interfere with the oprod.
I found a military sling thats 1 inch. made by Hunter fits the swivels on mini try Midway USA or brownells.
