So I'm planning on grabbing the mini 14 tatical 5846 model I just wondering if it's possible to change that adjustable stock to a solid non folding non adjustable stock. Or will it be like pulling teeth to get something like that done ? TIA

Jlefevre, welcome to the forum from Central Virginia!

Those stocks are made for Ruger by ATI:
https://www.atigunstocks.com/rifles/...-14-thirty?p=1

The only option they (ATI) offer is non-folding, but it is identical except the hinge is disabled. If you're a southpaw, it is very uncomfortable. The stock is also 1 LB and 2 OZ heavier than the standard Ruger synthetic stock of the 5847 model, making it over nine pounds with a loaded 20-round mag (regardless of what the Ruger spec sheet shows).

The ATI stock weighs in at 2 LB, 14 OZ; the Ruger synthetic stock weighs in at 1 LB, 12 OZ. I have both and weighed them. If you're okay with that, fine. I removed my ATI stock from service: my 181GB sports a Ruger factory wood stock (2 LBs, 8 OZ) and my 583 5847 model sports the Ruger factory synthetic stock (1 LB, 12 OZ).

If you want a solid non-folding non-telescoping stock, why not just get the 5847?

So this is my 2nd post... just registered today to gain knowledge on what will be my first Mini purchase, a 189 series Thirty in SST/wood. I'm an experienced x39 owner with a half dozen SKS/AK platforms but I really like the feel of the Mini. Will probably sacrifice one or two SKS to fund my urge.

Returning after several years away...

Purchased first Mini-14 in late 1970s after reading Jeff Cooper's review. While previously on active duty, the M14 was the standard issue rifle and I was still on active duty during the transition to the M16. I am now on my third Mini-14 (yes, a Ranch Rifle) which was purchased when the tapered barrel was introduced. It is topped with a Leupold 2.5x fixed scope in the scout position, an Ultimak replacement handguard, and a GunDoc trigger. My sentimental and practical favorite, although I do have an AR as a backup.

Has anyone try to install a accu strut stabilizer to a early (1976) 180 series mini 14? Will it fit?

Troy Chassis

Hey, everyone

I have owned my Mini 14 for a long time, and decided to dress it up with a Troy chassis. For a variety of reasons, I returned it to stock, and am needing to sell the chassis.

It's in "like new" condition, having seen only light range use. Anyone who knows Troy understands that this will be a high-quality piece of equipment. I am willing to let it go for half of what I paid for it.

The chassis is in Flat Dark Earth, and looks awesome with the blued or stainless Mini 14.

If interested, give me a holler and we'll talk.

Mini 14

Nice to find somewhere that doesn't cater to the M16/M4/ AR15 crowd.

3 AR15s and an AR10...I couldn't stomach the thought of another black rifle so I got me a stainless/wood stock mini 14! Unfortunately, after just one range visit, it is having several mechanical/functional problems. But on the bright side, it shoots as accurately as my Colt a2 with iron sites! Gonna go searching in the post for similar problems to the ones I am experiencing.
