How is your 580 Series marked?

I was looking at my 581 Series Mini-14, and it is actually marked "Ruger Ranch Rifle". My 583 I had was marked "Ruger Mini-14". I think I have actually seen one marked "Ruger Mini-14 Ranch".

How is yours marked?.

For legal reasons, "Ranch" is probably better than "Mini-14" as I saw one draft ofa an auto weapons ban that named Mini-14 but not Ranch.

181GB is marked "Ruger Mini-14 CAL .223"
583 Ranch Rifle is marked "(Ruger Logo) Mini-14 5.56 NATO"
Other 583 (Tactical) - IIRC is marked "Ruger Ranch Rifle 5.56 NATO"

It would be easy to confuse the Ranch Mini 14 with the Ranch American. One is a semi and the other is a bolt action. My 580 Mini is marked Ruger Ranch Rifle Cal.223 It must reeally stink to live in a communist country.

My 2005 Model 580 says "Ruger Ranch Rifle Cal. 223". Since all handle the 5.56 ammo other than the .223 Target model, why would they stamp the lower pressure .223 on it?

My "everyday carry rifle" is a 583 blue 18.5 inch synthetic stock (5855) with a factory 20 mag and is laser engraved on the top rear of the receiver with the Ruger Crest, then MINI-14, then 5.56 NATO

This is recorded in the poll above.

Without going up to the house to check on it, IIRC my early 583 is marked the same as SMOGGUY's. I clearly recall "Ranch Rifle" in the stamping, even though it was a Tactical...

My stainless 581 is marked as a Mini 14, came off of a Gulf charter boat where it served for years as a “shark gun” and has been totally rebuilt as an accursed M-14 would be. Somewhere in the archives of this site is the story of its build or conversion from a work gun to a .3 inch match rifle.
