 Lots-I'm not gonna count it all! ....got better things to do on a weekend!

They are the same you see on gunbroker... white tip.
Yes they are good. I taped a paper target to a sheet of metal and the bullet caught the paper on fire upon impact. Im sure with added fuel those bullets could do some damage. I might try that on July 4th or so.

I have a pile, at least 1k for every centerfire but my 25-06 in rifle and handgun, same for my 22mag and lord only knows how many 22s. Not so much shotgun ammo but I can go hunting all season for anything I hunt without going to the store. I am finally getting my buddies to come around to the correct hoarding mentality also.
Here is my question tho, we all know bullets don't fly out if the ammo is ignited but the powder is still a fire hazard. I actually keep mine in a seperate building that is climate controlled in rubber maid action packers with dessicant pack thrown in. Has anyone figured a way to reduce the hazard in the home?

I tend to think that by the time anything among your stash lights-up, the rest of the place will already be a roaring inferno, if not already collapsed from the duration of the blaze.

I also believe that the "fire hazard" put out to the public concerning ammo is only designed to further erode the "gun culture" and prepare us for the nanny state to implement their "final solution" on the private ownership of firearms.

 Well, you guys have pretty good stashes. One day you will have ALOT.:)

#10 ·
What I don't have in volume, I make up for in varity
1200 45ACP
1000 12ga (assorted from skeet to slug)
200 30-06 for my bolt gun
400 (in clips) 30-06 for my Garand
100 44spl (wifes handgun)
100 7mm-08 (wifes deer rifle)
150 30-30 Win

Now I may only have 1ea of the following, but, I also have shotshells from 6mm to 4ga, rimfires from 2.34mm to 56cal, and (live) centerfires from 14cal to 30mm. 228Ackley Mag, 13x92SR, 55Boys, 50Vickers HV, 12.7x108, 60USN, various 20mm rounds, 25mmGAU etc make "interesting" conversation pieces.

Without going into too much detail (like I'd remember it all..got to do another inventory):

600 +/- LC '06 Match 8rd clips/bulk in ammo cans
1K+/- " Ball " /bandoleers/ "
1400+/- WCC M80Ball/strippers/bandoleers/ "
1K+/- WCC M193Ball/ " / " / "
600+/- WCC .45ACP Ball Cartons/ammo cans
" WCC 9mm Ball " / "
1600+/- LC .30 Carbine strippers/bandoleers/cans
Plus misc 12GA bird and target loads
2500 LC 7.62NATO Match brass prepped clean in buckets
1K mixed 5.56 brass in various states of prep
who knows how many 7.62 Ball projos
" .30 carbine projos
" 5.56 Ball "
" 230gr .45 and 115gr 9mm projos
<100 8mm Mauser for M48 Yugo Mauser
3 boxes handloads for 7.7 Arisaka I got from Dad, WW2 bringback
Primers to reload it all at least once, some twice
Powder to reload some of it, but not all

4 28+lb Linotype ingots

Misc ammo in plastic boxes for above, plus a couple hundred .357 handloads left over from when I had one. Someday, a 686 maybe...
LC is mostly surplus GI. WCC is mostly WWB put up in bandoleers/cans
This is 30 years accumulation, while raising a family, haunting as many gun shops as I could find before the chains drove most out of business.

These are estimations w/o actually counting

2,400+ rounds 5.56mm
250+ rounds 9mm
300+ rounds .22LR
20 rounds .30-06
20 rounds 8mm
100 rounds 7.62x54R

Can never have enough ammo.

#16 ·
* 3000 .223 (mixture of American Eagle 50gr HP, and Rem. UMC, plus a few boxes of Lake City and other self-defense rounds)

* 1000 9mm (mostly Win white box, a few boxes of DoubleTap self-defense/hunting ammo

* 3000 .22LR

* 500 17 HMR

Here's wishing I had bought more .223 when it was TRULY cheap! 9mm still doesn't seem too bad.

#21 ·
400 45acp mixed fmj&Hp
500 M855 Federal
500 M193 Federal
300 mixed 223 for droping plates
200 7.62x39 wolf 154gr SP (diein to see what that does at closer ranges)
100 12 guage managed recoil 00 buck
100 12 guage low brass 8
50 12 guage one ounce slugs
While I feel like I need more I can't really carry what I have.

#23 ·
Don't forget the word "cache". No need to carry everything you may need, just what you need to get to your cache or BOL, which probably shouldn't be in the same place actually. A small, lightweight reloading outfit with dies for your rifle caliber might be a good idea to include in longer term supplies, especially if your supply of ammo is limited.

#26 ·
you guys feel all hunky dory about sharing what ya got.. IMO its a better idea to keep these things secret. all a person would have to do now is find out where you live and when the shtf go and take ya out while yer a sleep and take your supply. some things are just better to keep on the down low if ya know what I mean

#27 ·
yeah I have a thing about M1A's and XD45's myself ;)

It has crossed my mind. However I don't think its that big an issue. Now if I had 10k or more then I would start to have more concern. However with my meager lil stash it would'nt be worth dealing with my SHTF defences to get it. I am not saying it could'nt be done. Just that if the SHTF it would not be so easy to walk in here.:)
