Reloading bullets for the mini 14

What bullets are you guys having the best luck consistency wise in your Mini 14s?? Have you noticed the 5.56 shoots better or worse than the .223?? I'm having trouble finding a load that has good enough accuracy for coyote hunting. I've only tried Hornady 55g & 60g VMax so far,but with about 5 or 6 different powders.

Ive shot up to 69gr Sierra in my Mini-14 but so far the most accurate load has been 60gr Sierra. I have made loads with 55, 60, 65, 69gr bullets that have performed well in my mini. It doesnt seem to be very finicky. If its a good load most of the time it shoots good. Good luck finding one that works for you.

Ive tried many but settled on H335 and Tac for all my loads now. I still have good handloads loaded with IMR-4895, W748, and Varget. Still keep Varget around for my M1 Garand so I may end up using it again for 223. Also, my most accurate load in my mini was a 60gr sierra bullet and W748 so.... but Tac and H335 give me good velocities and good accuracy and both work well across many bullet weights.

My skinny barrel 580 likes 55 grain Hornady Vmax's and 55 grain Nosler Varmageddons over 23.4 of RL10x and 24.2 AA2015. It also likes Hornady 55 grain soft points. It doesn't like FMJ's. Fast powders tend to give me the best accuracy.

Although I prefer heavier bullets my SS Ranch shoots its best groups with the Sierra 40gr HP. Don't expect them to have the same POI as heavier bullets.

Right now its 60 gr.HP Sierra over Varget for yote thumping. I been getting consistent accuracy with Fed LC 55gr FMJ factory loading if you just shooting but anything duplicating that load should be good. Haven't used anything heavier yet. COSteve mentioned some 62gr. pills from MidSouth that should worth a try as I will do so.
