boo hoo! Cry fatboy! Cry!

He forced himself out through his stupidity. But in true leftist fashion his failings are everybody elseís fault, funny how that works.

If this slime was so friggin' smart (as he seems to think of himself as), he shouldn't have expected anything else. He signed on and repeated an oath of office several times to not do what he did. And now he's crying in his diaper. He was picked up for COL (lord knows why) yet he chose to retire. Best for all involved, and he won't disgrace the rank/position of a full COL.

He made a "statement" by retiring rather than being promoted. In his meaningless world, that is a "powerful statement". For the rest of the Army: "good riddance" (with the emphasis on "riddance")...He was a stain on the honor and oath of his fellow officers.

Duh. Partisan, hence he worked his complaint through a congressman that was not his representative.

I might also point out that even though he had been "picked" for full COL, his retirement pay is still based in "time-in-grade". He would need to stick things out for three years before he'd see COL retirement pay.

What a Dick! Glad he's out, only sad his "retirement" isn't at Leavenworth...

If he doesn't pop up on MSLSD/Communist News Network/etc as a 'consultant' sometime before the election I'd be shocked.

Would he be considered a step up from Avenatti for the dems?

21 years and a light colonel? He was passed over for promotion a few times, at least.
I've known officers that went from butterbar to MG in that amount of time. Sounds like a real cryin' shame. Should of been fragged.

Last question asked of all the hearing participants.
Did President Trump do anything that broke the law?
Answer from all no.
My question If the law wasn't broken what the hell were they testifying to, he hurt
their little feelings.
Some of the crap I wasted my time watching.
ANYTIME CONGRESS IS IN SESSION perjury should apply to the people asking and answering questions.
It is not equitable when they asking questions can lie but the person being questioned does so under the perjury statutes.
Same should apply to the cops.

Not really. I dropped my retirement papers at 22 years as a light colonel. Primary zone of consideration for COL was the next month. I was just tired and, frankly, didn't want to move again. There was no pass-over. To be sure, some long-ball-hitters get picked up sooner than others.

When my Dad entered the Army in the summer of '41 (USMA class of '41), he anticipated a 30-year career culminating as a COL. At 20 years, he was a COL, at 25 years he was a BG, and at 27 years he was a MG. He turned down an offer for LTG because he didn't want to ever be in the D.C. area again. Just a few years later, he was making more retired than he would have on active duty (not counting a second job).

It was the same for me, but counting a post-retirement job.

Alexi will do fine, sadly.

I remember seeing somewhere that the goal of the US military is to have their hot runners wearing a star by the 20-22 year mark. Part of this was to keep pace with other militaries so when they show up someplace theyíre not Ďrankedí.

It can also depend on assignments. USARPAC use to to promote faster because a lot of there assignments were deemed hardship tours.
I imagine these days that any trashganistan assignment are also rated hardship.
But what do I know 68 to 74 was a long time ago.

Much is "where you were, when". And who you know. I hated that but recognized it. I also understood there is some validity/reality to that.

There is also an un-proclaimed tendency toward minorities (race or sex) or those with foreign backgrounds - all in the name of "inclusivity" before it was a "thing". Some earned it, some didn't but rode the wave.

Nothing new, Eisenhower went from O5 to 5-star in less than 4 years, that's what you call moving.

And then to top it off when he was president and GEN Marshall who had helped him with his rapid rise was accused of being a commie sympathizer, crickets from Eisenhower. Now that's what you call ingratitude....
