That's funny. How would you know, at the battalion level? The fragmentation stuff and napalm normally account for about 70% of casultities, the belt feds about 10%, friendly fire, accidents and illnesses anywhere from 10-40%.

this is for WW2, when we had tremendous advantage of having autorifles vs bolt actions, so the numbers today are lower, also, today we have more in the way of grenad launchers, etc. Also, the 'small arms' included the belt feds.

In Afghanistan, my son the data Marine, carried the M240. Two in his squad carried the AR10. None carried the M14.

I went over the armory at my unit (Air Force) for some M16 training before I got out in 2008. They had M14's in the armory. I saw them through the window out on a table, when I checked out my weapon. Not that they trusted us with weapons of any type. I deployed to Iraqi Freedom with no weapons at all. But they made us shoot them every so many years.

toyhw you seem to be here just to argue with others. I bet you have lots of value to add, but arguments make forums boring. With that you join free and others on the list.
