Annual Qualification

Had my pistol qualification the other day for the LEOSA. Of course it was cold and raining. 50 rounds total. This years curriculum included one hand shooting with both strong hand and weak hand at various distances. A couple strings of shooting on the move while walking. Start at 15 yards and have to fire the prescribed amount of bullets before reaching the 7 yard line.(3 to 5) Shots must be fired while moving. Other exercises also, but those were the toughest.

Did pretty well. Not as sharp as I was when I was young.

I had to opt-out of LEOSA.
It was a good idea but for me it was about money.
I'd have to travel a little over an hour to an approved range and bring 50 rounds of .45 acp. and do this once a year or get a 7 year CCW for a fee.

The CCW isn't good in all US States but I don't travel much now days and I save hundreds in time and ammo.

Officially retired but was allowed to stay on as a "Special". Thus I qualify through the department. That qualification satisfies the requirement for the LEOSA. Only costs me some time.

Shooting was from 3....5.....7....10....and 15 yards. Sig 220 .45 auto DA/SA.
State of the art big city range with turning targets and the works. The drill is explained before the string. Good training and a bunch of fun.

Regards Bepe
