$3000 for a pocket 22?

That's the price for a M21 Beretta that's had an extractor, luminous sights, longer PT22 Taurus mag fitted, longer, threaded barrel, 3.5" of silencer, trigger job, converted to SA only speed safety lever added, slide lock added to the right side of the gun. all the over-travel gone from the trigger, for 2" groups at 25 yds, and BB gun levels of suppression. The rear of the pop up barrel has been pinned down into the frame. Men who really can deliver on this sort of work charge (and get). $150 an hour.

The silencer has a central tube, a sleeve tube around that base-tube, and an underchamber welded to the bottom of the sleeve tube. The can makes the gun (from the side) look a bit like a chunk of o/u shotgun barrel. The barrel and can threads are case hardened, and then the can is loctited onto the gun, since there's no reason to remove it. The Front of the can is closed off by a washer, which is held in by an internal snap ring. This makes it super easy to remove the baffles. You simply remove the snap ring and washer and fire a shot thru the silencer. The gas-pressures force most of the baffles out of the can, and the few remaining baffles at the back of the can are easily removed with a "buttonhook" sort of tool that is included with the can. Every 22lr can needs to be cleaned every few hundred rounds, or the carbon build-up makes the can get increasingly "louder".

BTW, this price is on your gun, but does include the $200 tax stamp for the feds.
