Need decent FAL smith in Phoenix area only

A teen sons issue, pile of surplus ammo shot in FAL then rifle was put up uncleaned. Owner lives outside Phoenix. Owner says no rifling left in barrel.

I live in FL so am trying to help him, without repairing the rifle myself. But sure do not want to recommend someone that will make a bigger problem out of this, than it already is.

Thanks in advance.

Think I found someone to send the owner to that can either help or that can point him in the right direction to get the help he needs in the area.

I would say its your sons issue if you taught him better. If you did, don't be an enabler. If you didn't, then shame on you. If corrosive ammo was used then the barrel which is chrome lined is not the issue, the chamber is ruined and park the rifle it's not worth re doing it. Ruining an FAL or any rifle due to neglect is a crime.

Chill, if you read my post carefully you will see this was the owner’s sons not my son.

My Son is the commander of a pararescue detachment, if he caught one of his guys with a rifle that looked like this, it would be boot applied to adz.

I re read it, sure sounds like your boy again. My apologies and God Bless your son in his duties! The FAL if the chamber is corroded it's junk.
The roller locking trunnion chamber is a bullet proof system but if the bolt, rollers, or trunnion is damaged, yikes. Military firearms dot com has excellent documentation on disassembly/reassembly so you could tear down the bolt, for closer inspection. The CETME is the same exact setup so go to those stickys and you should be able to take it apart for inspection. Pay close attention to checking the gap when you get to reassembly after cleaning inspecting things.
