I have an interest in the Saiga .308. Does it have any functional problems?
Thank you.

Re .308 Saiga....

My .308 16" Saiga is one of the most enjoyable and accurate semi's that I have owned.
I have not nor do I knkow of any particular problem with them.

Some of the longer bbl. versions may be more picky re ammo but thats about it.

I would get another in a heart beat

I picked 1 up last year 16 inch in black. It is basically a beefed up Ak and extremely reliable. I have shot only surplus 308 of several types with no problems. Because it does not have the pistol grip and a set back trigger it has a different feel to it it moves up instead of back. I am planning to scope it soon for a real accuracy test, my old eyes aren't what they used to be over open sights. The only reservations I have are I wish I had got it in wood instead of plastic and the longer barrel for better accuracy and higher muzzle velocity. It is a good 308 for about 1/4 of the price of an m1A. I still want one of those too.

I wish they made one in .243!

I like the .308 cause it's cheap, but I would really like to get a .243

See if you can locate a Saiga "woody" in 308. They only come with the 22" barrell. Mine is an excellent shooter and with the 3x9x40 scope I mounted, it is extremely accurate and a pleasure to shoot, especially being able to clearly see the target clearly at longer distances.
