I have access to purchase an All original Colt Ar15 A2 Government Model.

This firearm has No blocks to prevent any additions to the rifle.

Also features:

Spare Colt large pin upper, Flat Top
Armalite Gas Block
Burris Zee Rings

What do you think this is worth?

What would be a good deal?

How is the quality and accruacy of the firearm?

Any advice greatly appreciated

coolfly: If this is an pre-ban and it appears that it is, the price could vary somewhat from place to place. I had one just like you are speaking of, except the acc. were different. I traded the weapon for an oly. bull barrel. The person I trade for the oly., traded the Colt for two brand new Winchester rifles with scopes. The last time I saw the weapon was in a gun shop and was priced at $1295. I really think the price of any weapon is what someone is will to pay. Could be low-or could be really high if they want it bad enough.

If your main concern is having a rifle without the block, consider a post-ban Bushmaster. They don't have them, and you'll be getting a new (and great) rifle for a lot less than a pre-ban.

You didn't mention the asking price, I'd expect it's about $1500?? That's what they go for around here. The Colt stuff is excellent quality, but no better than a modern Bushmaster or even Rock River. If you're into Colts and the condition is good, by all means buy it. It sounds like a nice rifle. But if brand is secondary you may consider buying something else and use the 'left over' cash for a handfull of mags, a case or two of ammo and a good rifle case. Whatever floats your boat.

edit: you'll like the gvt. barrel, I have a hbar, too dang heavy!

fastang50 I could not have said that one better myself. coolfly I got 2 words for you actualy 4 ,rock river,bush master. just as good as any colt any day of the week actualy i prefer rock river because of quality, customer service and price . rock river is one of the best out there. the only reason i dont go with bushmaster myself is because their customer service sux..they have gotten too big for their britches and forgot one of the main reasons they got where they are today customer service.......my .000002 cents hope it helps
