If you think you want one now, or ever will want one in the future, buy it now. I think if I came across that deal right now I would buy it.

I was thinking about buying an AR prior to this mess. Almost pulled the trigger (sorry about the pun) on black Friday. Kinda kicking myself now. I refuse to pay panic prices.

Three times I made it out of my office to drive to the my LGS to buy that very model. Three times I decided to procrastinate because I had something else to do. Then Firearmageddon hit and the prices doubled and the inventory disappeared. I was shopping for 22LR today and about fell over backwards when I saw the last AR-15 on their rack. And it's the model I was thinking about. And while it's not as cheap as it was before Firearmageddon, it's still $40 less than MSRP. And it's in stock!

The M4 wasn't my style either, hence my presence here at PerfectUnion. The only gun I love more than my Mini 14 is my M1A Scout. Nothing like it. The M1 Garand lineage symbolizes (in the context of guns) everything I respect and admire about America and I saw the M16 lineage as symbolic of the erosion of our modern society. A bit dramatic perhaps. But, throughout the past four or five months I've started thinking that I may someday want an AR pattern rifle. Perhaps it will come to symbolize America's reawakening liberty? This may be the last chance.

I would buy it immediately! A woman who works for me just got the M&P 15 Tactical last night and is soo excited (she paid $1,300).

M-14/M1As and Minis are my favorites as well, but the AR is a very nice, fun platform. Get one while you can!

My friend has one he uses for 3-gun. I've shot it, and it's a very nice AR variant, especially for the cost.

I was looking at one before all this stupidity, but also procrastinated until it was too late. I'd be all over that if I were you...don;t even think twice. JUST BUY IT!

Thank you for all the feedback guys. I drove back to the shop and they were gone. Snoozed; lost. The guy I talked to prior to my first post said "we've got a bunch of them; just got a shipment in." I should have never left the counter.

awww that sucks the M&P 15 is one of the smoothest running ARs I've ever seen. The lack of a dust cover and forward assist is total non issue I beleive.

I've become friends with someone at the range who has one. I would absolutely get one after shooting his a few times. I've never seen him have any issue with it.

I have nearly 2000 rounds through my m&p 40 since my son got it for me last summer. Not a single issue of any kind, with commercial and handloaded ammo, including cast, plated hollow point, and fmj bullets in 155, 165 and 180 gr. Really good guns from a really good company. Oh and over 10,000 dry fires, BTW. Not a single issue.

I've got an M&P 15-22 and it's rock solid. Missing out on that opportunity may turn out to be something I regret for the rest of my life. Guess we will know tomorrow morning.

The AR market is completely crazy. Glad I've got options, but man do I wish I had bought one two months ago when the notion first struck me. They were $649 at my LGS. Today they sell for three times that on armslist.com. The Moody Blues may have been wrong, but it doesn't seem like the gun industry will ever go home to prices like that again.
