Does anyone make a wood handguard for a Mini 14/ranch???Also is the Choate P/G stock any good????

Dave, at DRC told me that at one time he had several wooden hand guards. He may still have one that he would sell.

The first couple of years Mini-14's came with wood forends,so they are out there. I'm sure someone out there has one they replaced with one of the newer aftermarket setups.

I bought a brand new Ranch Rifle three weeks ago and it came with a wood handguard. Does that mean it has been sitting around for awhile or do Ruger still make woodhandguards?
It is a 195-serial number. Can I get the serialnumber info on the net somewhere or do I have to call Ruger?
By the way I live in Sweden and the gun came from Germany so who knows how long it had been travelling.

Gun Parts Corp. has them for about $25.
They may have sold out though. I got mine a few years ago.
If you have a wood stock, the wood hand guard makes the rifle look much better.

I believe the handguard from GunParts is only for series 181-186...

I think the handguards are interchangeable.

Yes, and they are also interchangable between ranch and standard.Series 180 is the only model that's different.
