I've got a 1911 commander 4 1/2" satin finish about 35 years old that won't extract every fired shell used
new ammo,reloads , new magazine, I replaced the extractor , same thing happens any suggestions thanks

Need to see the business end of the extractor its self.......most new ones need fitting to be 100%

How closely have you examined your brass for bulges or scoring?

A bulged or scored case ( damaged chamber ) could be the why as to it not coming out of the chute....

Check extractor tension, check extractor hook, as noted above, check chamber for problems, check recoil spring, check mainspring. Past that? Need to see it.
