they are inexpensive, of good quality, the defendr model comes standard with 8 shots and night sights, and they are the fastest, smoothest pumps around. i can't think of anything particuarly bad about them.

The one part of my 1300 I didn't like was the litlle polymer or something bushing around the mag tube inside the receiver. My 1300 was a used purchase and after I had put several hundred rouns through it, the little plastic bushing there wouldn't align the shell bars just right. If you weren't extremely careful during reassembly, the gun wouldn't feed right.
In defense of the 1300, except for this, it was an extremely reliable and solid shotgun. I loved the speed of it's cycle. Mine was a used unit, I have no idea how many rounds went through it before I bought it. I am sure if you get a new one, you will have many hundreds, (thousands?) of rounds of trouble free usage from it,...

i have a winchester 1300, great shotgun i had some cycle problems when i first got it, but that was user error. adjusted my shooting style and i havent had a problem yet.
has anyone replaced the barrel with a longer barrel yet ? i have thought about doing that for skeet shooting.
or maybe for hunting...but i think i would have to put a plug in it to make it legal for hunting.

I have the oler 1200 and i love it. Shoothest action with the low price tag.

Yeah you have to get use to the "Quick pump" but once you do man can you put some round down range fast! A while ago my friend and i were wondering how fast it was and if it really helped. he loaded 4 into his remingtion and I 4 in my defender. I finished about 1 and a half rounds a head hehe. Then i loaded up 8 2 3/4's rounds and fired them as fast as i could at a target and it only took about 4 seconds give or take.Originally posted by battletweeter@Oct 17 2005, 09:17 PM

and the action is as smooth as silk. my friend with the remingtion was jealous lol.
