I bought a M-16 7 pocket bandolier from CTD, which includes 14 stripper clips, the bandoleer, and a guide. I was curious: will the AR-15 guide fit Mini-14 mags, or will I have to buy my own guide seperate?

So far, my experience has shown that you have to tilt the spoon back at a slight angle and use good thumb pressure to feed those rounds-it does not feed anywhere as smoothly as if you were loading USGI mags.
Try it bunch of times if you haven't already in loading some mags.
BTW, I also do not know for sure but I would think that the old 7 pocket bandos have spoons similar if not identical to the curent issue 4 pocket kits.

There is a special plastic stripper clip guide that fits Mini-14s and covers the entire top of a Mini-14 mag and has extended channels to support the full length of the entire clip AND align the bullet heads while the rounds are stripped. It is considerably larger (although it still fits in the bandolier pocket with the rounds), but far, FAR superior to using the little metal GI AR15 spoon. I bought one for about $5 at a show 10 or more years ago, and it is robust and functions superbly. Don't know the mfgr., but if I ever see another one, I'll get a spare or two. I now keep the GI's strictly as emergency spares, but they will work in a pinch, if you are careful ....

There is also a metal AR15-type spoon clip guide made specifically for the Mini, which is $7 +s/h or so, if you don't mind getting reamed.

I think that what you are talking about is a Thermold stripper clip guide. Thermold originally designed them for AR-15 mags, but they also work great on MINI-14 mags. The best thing is that you can use the Thermold guides with ammo on strippers or with loose ammo. I also bought one for $5 years ago and I haven't been able to find another one since then. I saw one sell for $22 on eBay recently, but I don't need another one that bad! If anybody out there has some, or knows where to get them, please let me know.
