Hi Guys, I'm both new to this sight and to shooting in general. I havea Mini-14SSRRand would like to get it customizeed, and more accurate than it is now. I'm not a gunsmith, so I personally can't do the things that I read Z-Man did to his rifle. I've read the articles, and been to the websites of Accuracy Rifle systems, Clark Custom Guns, and DRC, and I would like to get an opinion on who I should send my Mini to. Any and all help and advice will be greatly appreciated.:usa:

I'd send Mike your trigger group and get his stuff and try it first.
It addresses the main issues with the Mini.

I plan to get the video and try my hand at glass bedding. I'm a little concerned about making a mess with the bedding compound but I need to learn somewhere.

I'm not really into sending rifles away. YMMV

If you go to the Gallery look at some of the pictures you'll
get an idea of DRC's work. Also Accuracy Systems up Colo way
does nice work. There is one place to stay away from and
that's that plce down Odessa Tx way. I've heard nothing
but horror stories about that place. I don't recall the name
but there are folks here that DO know it and about it. Here's a
link to a good place...

Welcome to the forum Antonio. If I wern't a do-it-yourselfer, I would talk to DRC, and Accuracy Systems in Colorado. A.S. has different plans, for different prices, depending on what you want. Talk it over with them, Compare, Think it over, check your wallet, then make your decision. Either way both companies do excellent work, and stand by it.

There is also a search button in your upper Right control panel, enter keywords, and related posts come up. A lot of info to study up on. ;)

Thanks for the input Guys, I live near a gunsmith and will find out what he will do. The only problem I know about with him, is that he looks down on the Mini-14. I know that his # 1 love is the Garand M1, Springfield's 1903 and M14/M1A. He also believes that the AR is the rifle to use now. I'll just check and see what he will do, I already have the prices of DRC, Clark Custom, and Accuracy System (the one in Co.). By the way, who are the one's in Odessa Tx. and how bad are they.
Any way I be really checking to see which way is better for me and my wallet, because like most of the people on this site I do love my mini, and want to make it unique.

Accuracy Rifle Systems in Odessa TX, is the one with some bad reports from customers. I see they have a muzzle brake/harmonic tuner for $150 that looks interesting.
DRC chops the barrel by 2 to 4 inches and has good reports from users. Dave3006 was real happy with their work. I think he may have left this forum and another he was at. But he was real excited about it at the time.
You will lose velocity with the chopped barrel though. With a 30 it wouldn't really matter, but with the 14 the bullet is very dependent on barrel length for velocity.
The Ramline synthetic stocks are giving some people the same results as bedding would.
www.chiefaj.com does Mini tune-ups. Muzzle-brake,lapping, trigger job and some other tricks, all good reports of his work. About $135
