I was checking out the members link on the top right hand page and when I looked @ my info I noticed an 'Add so and so to my Ignore List'. What the heck is that? I sure hope I'm not on anyones ignore list

Haven't tried it GL, I assumed it was for troll controll. Be neat if you could click a button and they'd just go away. So far, seems they haven't found this bunch unless the oldtimers know something we don't.

If it works the same as on another board of the same format, when you put someone on your ignore list their posts wont come up or e mail you when they post. It interferes with the continuity of the threads so I dont use it.

Haven't got that upset with anyone myself, may not agree with some statements/opinions, but don't expect anyone to agree with me all the time either.

Okay I hate to sound especially dumb but what the heck is a troll? Is a troll someone that just drops by and reads the boards and does not join, also called a looky lou on other threads. Or is a troll someone that places anti gun, anti hunting msgs on the boards. If it is the latter should not the moderators have access to a feature that would block them from the boards thru their web site. Kinda like blocking some of those advertiseing msgs in your email.

Troll: Think trolling for fish. They post things in intentionally irritating or ignorant ways just to get you to bite.

Lurker: Someone who just looks around and reads but doesn't post. I lurk at SNORT from the ad banner, because I don't know enough about 4x4s to offer advice but I'm interested and can benefit from reading from those who can.

Isn't a Troll a small icelantic figure that guards bridges? The Troll must be appeased before crossing the bridge.

Biggest problem we can have here, ruin some good conversations. At another site, they raise so much cane the mod. has to delete/poof the threads when some get over heated.

A Troll is someone that lives in the mitten (lower pensula) of Michigan (below the bridge) as opposed to a Yooper (U.P.er).
