I can't believe I never thought of grinding down Allen
wrenches!!!
Here's another idea: find a star drive bit that closely but tightly matches the Allen recess in the screw. With the screw OUT of the gun, and securely held in a vise, align the points of the star bit
with the angles (not the flats) of the Allen screw and tap it home.
Done right, this practically eliminates the problem of stripping.
