I just read this thread
http://www.perfectunion.com/forums/showthr...=&threadid=1540
Unfortunately it's closed so I couldn't ask my question there: Did these ever get made? I was having some trouble at the range today that looks an awful lot like what was being described here. Please let me know if anything has been done with this, if my head weren't shaved I would have torn out my hair this afternoon.
Thanks

AF-Dude, that thread was closed because of escalating personal attacks, which is Taboo in this forum.

The jest of it was an observation by Mike of oregon that the older mini's, had a longer mag latch, than the newer ones. Which explaines why certain mags will fit a newer mini, and not an older, and visa-versa. The members thought if we have to make a different mag latch then why not design an extended mag release handle on the mag latch. A cad drawing was created, and a search for a manufacture began. I believe it died there.

Now ASI makes one, and so does hadaway, one of our members, only his is cheaper. Ref: http://www.perfectunion.com/forums/showthr...=&threadid=4142 His web site: http://www.thearmsroom.com/

Now my personal feeling on the subject. It would be a pain to change the mag latch (I'm talking about the latch, not the extended end) every time you switch mag's. It is far easer to rework the magazine latch tab. If it dosent latch up high enough, add a little weld at the bottom, and dress to fit. Or if it latches up too tight, or falls out some times, file a little off the bottom of the mag latch tab. (Now I'm talking about reworking the mag to fit the rifle, rather than the rifle to fit each mag)
