I just bought a mini 30 yesterday. I bought a 30 rd magazine at the gun store i bought the gun from. It is made bye USA magazines. It didn't fit very well and allow smoth operation of the bolt. I bent the lips of the magazine up a little bit and it seems to work better now.

What is the best 30 rd out there for the mini 30?

Unfortunately, I don't think Ruger EVER made a 20 or a 30-rounder for the Mini-30 (unless there are some military-only issues). Aftermarket, all the mags I've seen are straight-up JUNK.

The best I can suggest are either John Masen 10-rounders (which shoot like 9-rounders), or fourfourmag.com - 10-rounders.

I have no experience (Yet) with the fourfourmags, but he was running a special of 6 mags for $100 way back in May that I never took advantage of. Mark from fourfourmag.com may yet be lurking on this forum... Mark, you there???

You're right about some aftermarket mags being junk. But I think, and hope, that the junk mags could work with a little help. I've had bad magazines before and lubricated with Break Free and the damn things were OK. I'd like to hear if anybody else has other advise.

The Thermold 28-45 expandable mags are rated as the best for the Mini-30. Only $90 a mag at Delta Force.
For USA and other cheapie types, the 20 round ones will be easier to get to work right than the 30's.

What is the web addy for the Delta Force sight? I wouldn't mind paying $90 for a 45rd magaxine if it worked good. Do youhave to do or buy anything special to make them hold 45rds?

The website is at www.deltaforce.com. To make the mag go to 45, you push in a tab on the lower front? of the mag, and an inner mag body pops out from the outside one. Pretty bulky in 45 configuration tho.
I'd just get some Fourmag 10 round mags. Then some cheap 20's, and maybe replace the followers with Rugers, then use factory 5 round as guide to tweak feed lips, hole, as necessary.
