sierra, hornady, speer, nosler, ......has anyone used a barnes solid copper bullet?...., what am i forgeting.

in regards to hand loading, what do you all prefer and why?

My mini, and I like Sierra, and Nosler. They have a good rep., they shoot good, a wide selection, and they are cheap, unless you get the Nosler partition.

BTW, I'm moving this from the mag section to the mini-14 talk.

I use Hornady almost exclusively for the Mini. 52grBTHP and 60grVMax. I load as far out as the magazine will allow with no crimp. Either of these bullets will put a groundhog down out to about 300 yds. I don't know how they would do on Coyotes but hope to find out this year.

The 52grBTHP seems to have the edge on paper targets.

I found a bulk sale on Remington UMC .223 ammo and bought a case of it.When looking at the advertised Ballistics there were no difference between it and the Green Box ammo.However I have one Mini-14 that like the 62gr bullet much better than the 50gr.Good Luck!
