I snapped off an Allen Wrench tip in one of my scope ring cap screws(don't ask, just assume stupidity and too, much too tight). Any suggestions on getting the cap screw out. The Allen wrench tip is wedged in the cap screw and a regular drill bit won't touch it. I am thinking I will drill out the cap screw from the bottom. Anyother suggestions?

Sorry to hear of your problem dvdstdg. I don't think they have an easy out that small #1, #2, #3. are too big so I don't believe drilling from the bottom will do it for ya. If it were me Id very carefully dremmel out an indent with a cone shaped stone into the allen wrench, drill off the head with a carbide tiped or cobalt drill (high speed is too soft). The top ring should come off, with a nub prouding. A small pair of vice grips would unscrew the knub. If you can find a torque tip driver that small you may be able to drill a hole, and tap in the torue tip to remove the screw.

Now if you don't have any tools, it may be cheaper to take it to a smith, It will be very cheap. Course if you have $6 tasco rings, consider the cost.

DVDSTG,
I've not had an allen wrench do that, but plenty of the magna bit screw tips have broken off and become almost impossible To remove. For them, I get a small sized, 1/4 drive deep socket. Place the open end over the offending jagged metal and strike sharply with a hammer. The dang thing will pop right out. Don't know if that will work for you or if you are in a position to try, just a thought.
