No, but I tried some once on a 10/22. It put the scope very high so my cheek weld wasn't consistant. I couldn't shoot as well. For best accuracy I like a scope as close to the barrel as possible. My Ranch rings, put the objective lens of my 3-9x40mm about 1/8" above the hand guard. It works for me. ;)

Midsouth is usually cheaper than anyone on bases, rings, scopes. http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/dept...%70%74%69%63%73
If midsouth dosen't have em then I look at Natchezz, they will be a little higher, but a larger selection.

I am wondering about the cheek weld issue. I am 6'5 and have never had any problem with high mount rings on any of the lever guns I have used them on but I am unsure about the mini. Given my significantly larger than average frame high mount rings may work fine for me... then again the problems with cheek weld may just be exacerabted. I really want to have use of iron sights along with a scope and am unsure about investing in an ultimak & aimpoint or other sighting system due to significant outlay of dollars. I don't mind spending for it if I like it but how will I know if I like a setup until I try it on my rifle?

At least with the see through rings I can continue to use my beloved array of cheap BSA, Tasco, Bushnell ...Scopes and have the handy carbine attributes made possible by iron sights. I guess I will just have to take a stab at it and see how it works.

Hey Mordru, if you've used them before, and like em, go for it. Some people like em some don't. It's a personal pref thing.

Just a thought, If it does feel a little awkward you may want to try a tatical cheek pad to elevate your weld to help hold your head steady. Similar to this one. http://www.perfectunion.com/forums/showthr...=&threadid=2249

Thanks for the thought about the cheek piece. I will order a set of those see through rings and give them a try and if they don't work for me I'll probably go to a Ulitimak and a reflex type/red dot. I just do not want to trade rapid close range target acquisition for a scope on my mini. I've got bolt guns if I want to spend a lot of time lining up a scope for every shot including a well used and much beloved Savage 110 in .270 that is a real tack driver.

I know alot of this stuff comes down to trade offs and being greedy for the perfect set up may well be counter productive but wasting time and money (mostly money) keeps the gun gear merchants in high cotton.
