I recently purchased a Ruger M77 mkkii and would like to upgrade the trigger. I'm going to be using for hunting whitetail mostly and I don't really have a desire for an adjustable trigger. Could I just replace the sear to get a lighter pull. And if so, where would i be able to buy the sear. Or should I just spend the 70bucks or so and buy an adjustable trigger like the timney, jewell, etc. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Goldfishranger, I agree the mk2 trigers are not good. I've worked on my ruger trigers with a stone and brought them up to an exceptable level. If you are not confortable doing this you'r self, a gunsmith should be able to help.

I know some one who just replaced the Ruger trigger with a Timney and said it was a pain but ell worth it .

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess I'll see if I can find a gunsmith around here. It's a shame ruger had to put such a bad trigger on an otherwise good gun.

That's good advice 7mm. I see midwayusa has the timney for about $63. I'll probably order one this week.
