Hi all,

I just wanted to check in with everyone and let you know what happened with my Mini that's had chronic extraction problems since the day I bought it. I called ahead and got Ruger to send me a shipping label. Then, the rifle went in for the fourth time to try to fix the extraction issue. I think they must have actually done some work on the rifle this time. They even test fired it for 100 rounds instead of the usual 5 rounds. Then they called me to let me know the situation. So I said send it back, and I'd give it one more try. Even though they had shot 100 rounds without a glitch, I was only somewhat optimistic, given the history of this gun. However, I had it out the range today, and I got 113 rounds through without any issues at all. I would have fired more, but that was all the ammo I had. So it looks like my extraction problem may finally be solved. It's a shame it took 4 trips back to Ruger Service to make it happen. Thanks to Dave3006, Rugster, Cajangeo, and Quadfan for your advice and encouragement. I keep you all posted on how things go. :)

Sorry about all your troubles, but it looks like your mini is well again. I did have a problem with intermittent extraction one time. I looked at the extractor with a magnifier, and saw a little burr, where the radius meet. Some ammo was worse than others, as the rim has a bevel, to help open the extractor, some ammo has very little bevel. I stoned the burr, and problem went away.
