There's likely nothing wrong with your rifle. Tapco's mags are nice, but they are too big for the mag well. I think that Tapco is working on a solution and will swap out your mag once they release the "Gen IIIs".
For now, your best bet is to go with Ruger factory mags. But I recently bought some really nice steel mags from CDNN (20-rounder Ruger Mini-14 .223 20rd Premium Blue Mag New Replacement and 30-rounder Ruger Mini-14 .223 30rd Blue Mag New) that work perfectly in both my 185-series Mini and my 582 Tactical.
