I stumbled up on a 1958 Chinese Type 56 at my LGS and got it for $300.00. I bought it cleaned it up and shot about 80 rounds through it without a hiccup. The furniture was in good shape except for the cosmoline that they did not clean off to good. I am in the process of refinishing the stock right now. Grumpy has some good input,just keep looking and you should be good to go....
