Anyone have any experience or knowledge with them. Has myself talked into buying one until I watched a u-tube video claiming that they wouldn't function well with steel cases. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm a Ruger guy. I've got 8 of them, rifles and handguns.
Honestly, a better rifle in 7.62X39 would be one of the AK's. I happen to have a Romanian WASR 10.

big part of the 'steel case problem' is the primers used in the steel (non-reloadable) cases. they're generally a harder to ignite type 'berdan' or 2-hole. I've yet to encounter a Mini30 that had issue with 'boxer' or 1-hole primers loaded in 99% of brass case x39 ammo. I know of no steel case x39 ammo loaded with boxer primers.

I have a Zastava MPAP as well....
I installed stronger hammer springs (Wolff) in all of my minis. I was gonna do it to just my mini 30 but it is so easy to do, I did it to all of them. I haven't had any problems with military surplus ammo since doing this. I use to have to hit some of it twice before they would ignite. The South African stuff was the hardest but now just one strike.
