well I figured the ATF lab people should be able to narrow this down by extractor and ejector marks on the shell cases they have. Somehow I would think the lab techs could detect a plunger type ejector marks like a mini 14 or AR has, compared to a fixed type ejector that is found on all type AK rifles. Also I believe the extractor marks should be quite different as the AK74 extractor is narrower than either the mini's and AR's also the extractor marks on the case head would be at different area. If they can't figure this out they sure are'nt that smart. I do believe they have about every rifle and hand gun made in their inventory that would allow them to test fire and compare cases?

So called expert on CNN tonight said with a .223 the sights would have to be ajusted 10 inches one way or another for a kill between 40 and 200 yards. I think i will just throw away my ballistics charts and listen to him. HAHA. and people really wil believe him.Thats the media.

Ya, just before that they had a graphic on the screen that listed the max range at 2,000 feet.
They could have been talking max effective range but I doubt it. I think they were going for max distance a bullet could travel.
Gee, and I thought a .22 rimfife was good for a mile.
Accuracy in media strikes again.
