The Gen IIs work okay in my 185-series, but not at all in my 582-series Tactical. Unfortunately, I'm not alone; Tapco has acknowledged the problem (basically 580 and up rifles have somewhat smaller mag well) and promises they are working on a solution (i.e., Gen III).

I hope Remington will allow Tapco to continue developing/producing these magazines. I really like them despite the fact that they don't work in my new rifle!

I contacted Tapco not too long ago about the Gen II magazines for the Mini and received a response on 11.5.2012. Was informed straight up that there was a problem with them. Production had been halted and that they hoped to have a updated release in 4-5 weeks
.
That updated release could be pushed back because of the buy out by Remington. Hard to say, could even call it quits? Time will only tell. Hopefully, Remington will bring their expertise to the table and release a low cost, reliable magazine for the Mini, fingers crossed.

Factory Mags

I have tried Pro Mag and Tapco in my 580 series and neither have worked for me. The Ruger factory mags work every time I load them up, though I would like to have the option available to use aftermarket mags if I wanted. We will see what Remmington does with the Tapco brand.
