For my first post, I'll ask a ??? that didn't seem to be answered before.

I wish to put a 50mm BSA on my ranch and the Ruger rings are to "short" to aloow this.
The Leupold 77/22 rings appear to be close but are slightly "off" when I tried them.

Has anyone else found a set of rings that will work????

The Ruger rings that come with the Ranch are the Medium Rings. You have to buy the Ruger "High" rings to accomodate that scope. They also make the Extra-High, and Low rings too. Check with your local retailer or you can order them from Ruger, CheaperThanDirt.com, sportsmansguide.com, etc.

There's a Ruger mount to Weaver adapter out there. Don't remember exactly where I saw it, it was prob'ly mentioned in a posting here. I thought about it for 60 seconds, then decided to just try my 9 power tasco from another rifle. It took about 40 minutes to take off the weaver rings, put on Ruger rings I already had, and align things. The 9 power was plenty adequate for 100 yards, so I may just try for 200 yards and see what works.

It would be handy to mount that adapter. I could try my 20 power Leupold without the hassle of switching rings. I could prob'ly borrow a scope for a quick try at the range. I've found that the "boresight" lense made by Leupold works great for setting scopes real quick. It was $60 and works with every scoped rifle I've tried so far.

Just a couple of crazy ideas.

I have a scope that has a 44mm obj bell. I went with Millett
Angle Loc rings in stainless. They come in high and super high.
The high ones worked great on my ranch mod. They also give
a wide option in windage adj. They were 23.00 bucks. I believe
Brownells has them in stock. They are easy to install and adjust.
I plan on posting a picture of my rifle here, as soon as I figure
out how...bg

Kali-

The Ruger-to-Weaver you are talking about is what I have on my Mini-30. Its a Weigand "bridge". http://www.scopemount.com or more directly, http://www.scopemount.com/mall/ruger_ranch_rifle.asp
The picture looks like its for a Ruger 10/22, but the concept is the same.

This will allow you to attach a scope using standard weaver-style rings, and it will also lift the scope a little allowing your scope to work. The only 'problem' I've had is the cheek weld is kind of blown because it is now too high. But that is easily compensated for by getting the right cheek pad.

Welcome to the forum Doc, I don't have anything to add as the guys seem to have covered all the bases.
You might want to install a smaller gas bushing, so your mini won't beat up your Scope. You can use the search button in your upper right control to find very detailed threads on the subject. The gas bushing will make a BIG improvement in reducing recoil on your mini!
