I'm looking into buying a scope for my Savage 110 in .30-06, and I was wondering how Swifts compare to other manufacturers as far as clarity, build quality, durability, repeatability of adjustments, how well they hold their zero, etc.
How would you rate it against scopes like Simmons, Bushnell, and Tasco? How does it compare to Leupold, Burris, etc.?
Thanks for any information you can give me- I greatly appreciate it.

First off let me welcome you aboard and hope you enter the rifle give away. Having never seen a swift scope in person I would be inclined to say that it is on par with the Bushnell's, Tasco's and Simmons. Tasco has recently gone out of business from what I have been hearing on the net. Swift scopes would be several classes below a Leupold or Burris if it compares to the others mentioned above.

My uncle has one on his weatherby, I personally liked it alot. Very clear optics and it looks nice and solid. For the price I think that they are good scopes. With that scope and his .270mag+my shakey coffee drinking self, grouped about 3/4in. at 100yds.

Thanks for the info and for the welcome, guys. I found a Swift Premiere 6-18x50 on sale 'round here for $99, and I just wanted some feedback before I plunked down the cash to buy it. They seemed nice, I just needed some personal experience info.
So thanks again,

I have 2 Swifts and I love them. One is a fixed 6x and the other is a 4x12x40. I did a side by side with a Lup. 6x and I swear that the Swift was brighter. As for the 4x12. I have had it on my Sav. 30-06 for 5 years now. Its been rained on, snowed on and everything in between and has never failed me. 5 yrs, 5 shots and 5 dead deer. It has never lost zero. The shop I bought it from told me that if for any reason the scope fails, bring it in and they will give me a new one from behind the counter, no questions asked. Can't ask for more than that.

I bought one this year and the store quoted the same guarentee as camera man. It is very clear, I put it on my Mini-30 and it has worked well so far.

The major factor in its purchase was the friend who I was shopping with was my NG First Sergeant former 101 airborne pathfinder and current police sniper. He liked the scopes clarity and lack of internal visible screws that some scopes have. With that endorsement I felt I couldn't go wrong.

The Swift scope is in the same class as the Trashco and the
Bullnell,They all have one thing in common the are budget priced scopes the biggest marketing ploy these manufacturers have is the "Life time warrenty" sure if one of thier scopes crap out they will replace it for free ,we are talking about scopes they pay
$5.00-$10.00 for each from an over seas vender and sell to "frugal" Americans for $69.00-$169.00 each.
You cant even mention names like Leupold and burris when comparing these budget scopes a 3.5X10x40 Leupold Varix III
will run you around $460.00 as compared to a Tasco 3.5X10X40 will run you around $89.00, The one thing i learned about when working in a large gun dealership for more than a few years is
with optics you get what you pay for PERIOD I have seen hundreds of those cheap scopes come back with jammed power rings, broken cross hairs and Bad fogging but people still buy them all day long ,Leupold, Burris scopes? only a few and all were do to owner abuse not a defect, I cant begin to tell you guys how many $600.00 rifles i sold to customers who flipped out when i showed them a proper scope to top it off with they went right out the door with thier new gun and drove strait to walmart for a $59.00 scope ,I guess people just dont take thier Hunting/Shooting seriousily .

Um, deerhntr, do you actually have personal experience with the swifts or are you speaking out of a general hatred for "cheap" optics? By the way, that Swift scope I was mentioning earlier normally retails for $200+, and the guy's just clearancing them out. So I don't think it's in quite the same class as the bushnells and the tascos.

When a large 8 point gets with in range and your scope is fogged
up big time,Trust me you will be buying a leupold the next day.
I dont mean to rub people the wrong way i am just speaking from experience.
