I get a call on my cell phone this weekend and it is my friend. He conveys to me that the guy accross the alley has been killed. He was only 19 years old. He was killed in a car accident in the early morning.

That same morning at about 2am my friend and I are on are way home from hanging out and we see what seems to be a police check point. They have them all the time in East Los Angeles. My friend is sober but not wanting any hassels, he turns up the street to avoid the check. So happens it was not a police check point, but rather that young man dying in the street from the car accident.

Was it GOD speaking or the Devil speaking? I do not know, but it was one of them speaking that morning.

My dad, who is in a Christian graduate program states to me that GOD states in the Bible that one should always be prepared for one's maker.

Do I go to the funeral and ask the mother who just lost her child, is there any quantative reasoning for this happening? Are you listening science people?Or is death not enough proof for you. Around where I am from it happens a lot. Makes one think?

I will pray for that mother and family. And hope that young man was prepared for his maker.

I feel you want to conway some important message but I fail to understand what you mean here. Certainl, being ready to face the Creator at any moment is fine and significant, but that applies every day.

How is that connected to you almost driving by the scene of a fatal accident? Where is "GOD speaking or the Devil speaking" here? The worst that could have happened to you, as I see it, would have been that your friend would not have turned up the street and you would see and learn about the fatal accident earlier that you did.

Is there some kind of significance there?
Also, what do you mean when you refer to death as a proof?

Regards,
Voruzon.

I am moving your thread to the General Discussion section, but leaving a Redirect here for anyone who would care to comment.

I'm a "science people." I'm listening, but I'm not seeing any proof here. Random death is no new thing to me, thanks to my time as an EMT. Not to sound cold, but someone dying from trauma sustained in an auto crash isn't likely to provide proof of a cosmic battle between two entities personified as ultimate good and ultimate evil. Frankly, I've been enough of these debates to have lost most any shred of interest in them. Nothing personal.

On a side note, I've visited a lot of forums, focused on everything from motherboards to IHC Scouts, and I've only seen one that didn't eventually have the "Great Religous Debate." Personally, I prefer the really interesting ones, like the Cult of the AMD vs the Zealots of our Holy Pentium.

Since this is gun forum, I advocate the Faithful Fellowship of the Wheelgun vs Followers of the One True Firearm, Our Beloved Semi-Auto.

I'll start. Gather round, my brethren. We must spread the word that the false religion, The Fellowship of the Wheelgun, will soon be realized as heathenistic and backward. Only Cowboy Action Shooting will stand between us and total domination!

While those who are blind to the truth may site the reliability and simpler operation of a wheelgun, they turn their back on the mighty hi-cap magazine, the flatter profile for improved concealment, and the fun of watching brass ejected through the air. Did I mention we have hi capacity magazines!!!? I'm talking close to 20 shots without reloading! 10 shots on average!!!

Hey wheelgunners, speed loaders should be renamed slow loaders! Drop mag, slap new mag, continue to rock and roll! Did I mention Hi-cap magazines?

Remember our slogan, WWBD. (What would Browning do?)

Thank you my faithful flock! Allow me to share my latest experience that proves beyond a doubt the supremecy of the doctrine of the semi-automatic!

Today I rejoice in the arrival of an ancient artifact of our religion. A 12 round magazine, imported into our country on or about 3 BB (Before Brady), has found its way to my doorstep today! For those who still doubt the miracles that can be performed in the modern age, it was delivered by an agent of the enemy! While the government slavishly works to remove your rights to carry more than 10 rounds, while they invest countless dollars in signs to keep all the criminals from carrying their guns into a post office, one of THEIR OWN POSTAL EMPLOYEES DELIVERED MY ARTIFACT!!

I will further say that I have seen many signs of late. Signs on certain government agencies and stores have a slash through a REVOLVER! They don't actually say no pistols, just a symbol for NO REVOLVERS! The targets I buy from the local police supply have a picture of a man with a bad hair cut and a REVOLVER!

What can we learn from this, my faithful? Revolver heathens are not only backwards in attitude and hair style, but are more likely to be criminals and be illiterate.

You fellas are lucky I'm home sick today, else you'd have to wait for the homileys 'til later.

*clears throat, takes dramatic drink of water*

Despite my suffering with a stomach virus (caused by casual contact with a REVOLVER!) the healing touch of a 12 round magazine was such that I went out back and put a box of shells through it. Ladies and gentleman, Americans and Kalifornians, I wept with joy. Joy that this magazine, never before inserted into any pistol, waited years to come to me and share the joy of HI CAPACITY MAGAZINES in such an intense and personal way. It functions flawlessly, just as we all knew it would, because its for a semi-automatic. Even the sound of "12+1" chokes me up and makes me thankful that I welcomed the spirit of Browning into my personal holster. Have you welcomed him into your holster?

We must share this with others. Not only those who are undecided, but even those who shoot REVOLVERS! YES, I SAID 'THOSE WHO SHOOT REVOLVERS!' The next time you see someone at the range with a REVOLVER in their unwashed hand, lead them by example. Out shoot them (and put more holes in the target without reloading thanks to your HI-CAP MAGAZINE!) and then gently lead them to try your fine piece of workmanship. Let them know that there are many superb artisians who can take their tired, worn out, out dated revolver and turn it into a lovely lamp for the night stand. Let them know that you understand, that you may even have been weak once yourself, and offer to take them to a gun store RIGHT THAT MOMENT AND HELP THEM PICK OUT A REAL GUN!!! SHOW THEM THE HI-CAPACITY MAGAZINES!!! *dramatic drink of water* Its up to you to make them understand that they are only one small step above black powder and percussion caps, or only two small steps above large rocks and leather straps.

Please remember the poor reloaders who can't afford new brass when the collection plate comes around next week. Go, and live your life on the principals of "WWBD?"

I have spent almost 1.5 hours trying to respond to this thread. Both times I have typed in a reply - fairly long - it has come back and said I was not logged in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has trashed my reply and takes forever to get out or back in!!!!!!!!!! I logged in both times. Not a good writer, and spent a lot of time entering a fun (to me) reply. Had it trashed BOTH times!!!!!!!!!!1
I have done a warm boot, cold boot, and virus check . No virus. No problems elsewhere. I am *issed, to say the least!
Will see if this goes thru. I like it here, but I don't like the problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spiny, its not just you. Its running slow for everyone. When I have a long post, I type it in Notepad, and then copy and paste it into the message board. That way if there is a problem, you still have all of your message, and can just copy and paste again.
