Hello all. I have a pre-ban non-ranch Mini 14 in stainless that I am considering fitting with the OEM GB flash hider and sights that I acquired through a Ruger armourer a number of years ago. I contacted Ruger who informed me that, as a matter of policy, they do NOT modify their products. So, I am wondering if anyone out there has made this modification and with what results. My objective is to make these mods as close to factory spec. as possible. To this end, I would be interested in making contact with a smith who would make the mods for me -- there are none in my neighborhood. Many thanks!

Rajaz: I'm getting ready to undertake the same project. I will keep you informed of the details, as they progress. Doesn't seem like a big job, I just need to locate the correct rifle. My OEM Ruger flash hider is stainless, and my front sight/bayo lug has not been drilled yet for the roll pin. Still trying to find a Mini experienced gunsmith to handle the 9/16X28 threading of the barrel.
