Hi, due to the capricious new New York State firearms law I needed to remove the Choate flash suppressor that I had on my cut to 16.5" stainless steel Mini14 barrel. A flash suppressor now makes the Mini-14 an Assault weapon in New York State. I reinstalled the original Min-14 front sight, but the end of the barrel is now shiny. How can I restore the original dull stainless steel finish?

Try scuffing with maroon scotchbrite. Is the barrel illegal at 16.5"? I would move out of that marxist shathole asap!

Edit: minimum is 16.0

Maybe sandblasting, or you can send it to ruger for touchup. my 2c.
