I'm thinking about ordering a specter three point sling for my BIL as a gift. He has a 580 series tactical mini. I was all set to order, then saw a review that said they don't work with newer minis because the sling mounts are narrower.

I searched the forum and couldn't find anything, which makes me suspect there is no issue.

If the wife isn't looking I might order a second one for my own 197. I just want to double check that the front sling mount isn't going to give either of us any trouble.

Also want to make sure the front strap doesn't interfere with the iron sights.

Definitely works fine with 580+ series. I have one mounted on my Tactical.

I'm thinking your friend probably purchased the M1A Specter sling, and that is why it didn't fit. Make sure you buy the Mini 14/30 version.

I've got a couple of 2-pt Specter slings for my 580+ series Minis. Good stuff! Be sure to ask Specter about adding the optional $6 shoulder pad. Makes them as comfy as the padded Vtac that way.
