After installing the Yankee Hill 7" universal rail on my ATI stock i saw something was wrong. Well the front screw holding it on in the factory location was the culprit! I used the very foremost screw to get the bottom rail lined up with the front of all the other rails. I noticed that it had a (rough estimate) 3/32" gap from the bottom of the stock in that spot and when tightened down no accessories would slide on like there supposed to. Well heres my solution to the problem! Had a little free time at work so i got busy!!

I will get to try them out later today after a quick nap. Im going to swap stocks again but to a Factory Ruger ATI stock instead of the plain version i bought. This stock looks a little better than mine and also has a better pistol grip.

regency,

I'm a bit new to the Mini-114/30 and I don't understand your post. The three short rails you show don't look anything like any Yankee Hill 7" rail on the YHM web site. What's up?

Where are you intending this rail to fit on your Mini? A receiver scope rail? A scout scope rail? Accessory rail(s) out front on the sides? I am lost....

The mini has the 3 rails which have the standoff to hold them in place. The bottom of the yankee hill rail is concave but with it bolted to the stock it has a small gap where the small stock rail mounts. Its because a small step in the bottom of the stock.

The yankee 7" is mounted on the bottom of the gun.

regency,

Oh, OK. I think I am getting the picture. Does the ATI stock you have look like this one?

ATI Ruger Mini-14 Strikeforce Package RUG 2200

Looks like the ATI stock comes from ATI with three short accessory rails out front, one on each cheek and one underneath. You wanted to replace the "ATI-stock" shortie rail on the bottom with the longer YHM 7" rail, right?

I still don't see exactly how the custom-made adapter blocks you fab'd fit and work. (That's kinda OK, 'cause I probably won't go this direction.) Also, it sounds like you're talking about two different ATI stocks? Just suggesting that links to the web pages of the stocks you have, plus photos of how your adapter blocks go together, would be helpful to those interested.

Thanks for sharing your work and your explanations.

Yes both are that stock but one has all the scorpion upgrades and on the butt stock has the ruger emblem. Same stocks basically and same as the pic in your link.
I wanted a 7" rail because the 6" ATI Aluminum upgrade rail wasnt going to give me enough room for the Magpul AFG2 and a Harris swivel mount.
Where the bottom short rail is in the pic you linked is where i put the spacer. Right behind the 2" rail in the pic you can clearly see the step im referring to and no its not much but once tightened down it bends down the yankee 7" rail and the foregrip cant be removed. Plus i know its bent and i couldnt stand it not being straight.

Oh and i show 2 i made but only using one. I was going to put a 7" rail on the other stock also.
