Just came across a boat load of Winchester #1.1/2-108 small pistol primers.

The problem is I dont have any small pistol to load.

My question is can these be used for small rifle primers (.223)?

They measure the same size.

I cant seem to find any info regarding the differance between small rifle vs pistol primers.

any one have a answer?

Pistol primers have a thinner cup material, so that they will ignite with the softer firing pin hit.
Run SP in a rifle, and you'll likely punch holes in them. Run SR in a pistol, and you'll have a hard(er) time setting them off.

Find someone that loads 380, 9mm, 38spl, 357mag, etc and trade them for the primers that you need.

Thanks for the info. I am loading a bunch of .223 for my Colt AR.

Maybe I'll put them up on craigs list.

No need--have a "few" Wolf SR primers and need some SPs. Am in N.C.--are we close?
ETA: what size is your boat--LOL.
