Installed the Home - TheSKSmagAdapter over Thanksgiving. Function checked it with 3 TAPCO 20rounders (with the duckbill cut off) this past weekend. Used Wolf hollowpoints - no problems at all. If it hadn't worked it would be easy to restore the SKS ('53 Russian) to original specs. Well almost - you do have to remove some wood from the mag well area, but from the outside it looks the same.

The ergonomics of not having the duckbill (for me) are better. The modded mags rock in like an AK.

Look for a fixed 20 round Chinese mag. They work flawlessly. Load from two strippers and have 20 rounds at your disposal with out a crazy long mag hanging out the bottom like with the duckbill mags.
I looked at a ton of different mags and even the sks d/m configuration and I still like the 20 round fixed best.

This is a good anwer. The 20 round fixed without the star on the side work the best.

I've used them on an AK. They get old really quick. They weigh too damn much, but the worst thing is they make a hell of a racket. The bullets click around in the drum something awful. Probably good for a static defense. Other than that they just look cool.

they are detachable-blue steel and supposedly heavy duty-30 rd and 40 bucks. don't mind the price so much if they work and last awhile but i see a lot of bad press about sks mags. hope somebody out there makes a good one, they sure look badass withthose long mags.
