Yes, I can tighten it to the point where the pistol grip rests just about the bottom of my rib cage. I am 6'1" fwiw.

Thanks Woodstock. And tightened to that point, can you still shoulder the rifle without adjusting the sling?

Yes, it is a little pricey buy it is a great sling. I can also switch from single point to dual point in a matter of seconds if I need to sling it over my back so that I have both hands free.
