Depends on the lighting conditions. Blocking UV, reducing glare, block blue light and enhance the targets primary color. I wear my yellow lens while driving in snow or fog and for hunting under tree cover because I can make out details better. I like my smoke or dark amber lenses in bright light. Gray is neutral and you will see the colors true but muted, the important thing especially if you are on water or where you get a lot of light bouncing off a light colored surface like sand is to have polarized lenses. Can anyone provide me with the reason for different colored shooting glasses? I believe the yellow are used to heighten detail. Why yellow, rose, tan (sunglasses)...?
