I'm so glad that this site exists. To be honest, if I hadn't found this site I would have wasted a lot of money on inferior parts/services.

My mini-30 should arrive in a few days. I would like some opinions on 3 subjects: -what kind of bipod I should purchase
-a good overall scope that doesnt break my wallet
-are the stock scope rings worth using?

Hi csapor, we are glad you found us!

There are 3 main bipods, Harris, BSquare, Versipod. My opinion is the Harris is the sturder of the three. I have the b-square, as I got mine for $5, and a $40 gift card. They work fine for me. Where I saved more money (about $30) is on the adaptor, which fits on the gasblock. I cheated, and installed a Uncle Mikes swivel stud in the forestock. I would not recommend the cheep ones that clip on the flimsy ruger barrel, or your accuracy will suffer.

The Ranch scope rings work fine. I laped mine to remove a couple of burrs. I bought a Leupold 3-9x40mm for $179 at Academy Sports. Warrented forever, no mater who owns it. I highly recommend installing a smaller gas bushing to reduce recoil, your scope will live much longer!

A word about Leupold scopes. Since they are warrentted for life a used scope can be very attractive money wise. Sometimes a good deal can be had at pawn shops, gun shows or your local gun shop. Steer clear of cheap scopes unless you buy one of Mike Knifongs gas bushing kits. The shock of a Mini's recoil is very hard on even a quality scope. A 3X9 scope is plenty for a Mini,
