Hi there,

I finally picked up my SCAR stock today. Great stock, well worth waiting 2 years for it to come to europe ;)

But now there comes the problem. I tried to put in my 195 serie Ranch Rifle and it just wont go down all the way. I could not engage the trigger mechanism.

So I read the instructions again on the Clyde Armory website and gave it another try.
Not working again.

As I looked closely into the stock I saw sliding marks where the lower receiver fits in. And the same marks an the receiver itself. So I took my dremel with a polishing wheel and polished the surfaces of my receiver.

Yeah scary I know but I was carefull not to take any material away. I really just polished the surface.

I tried again but again no use. The receiver just didn't go all the way down. Next step was spraying some gun oil into the stock where the receiver settles.

The result was better but not enough. Still no way getting the trigger in. Again some polishing and the last 2mm were done by a rubber hammer. Now I could engage the trigger and the gun seems to fuction fine.

Question is : Did anyone have similar problems with the SCAR ?

Best regards

Marcus

As I said, I just polished. I didn't grind in any way.

But given the choice I would have polished the surfaces within stock. I just didn't see a useful way to do it without ruining the stock.

Hi Mcblack,

I am a swede looking for the SCAR stock for the Mini 14. Seems hard to get.
Do you know of any nordic distributors of the SCAR stock for the mini 14?

Best regards
Sigge
Hi SiggeZagg,

if the EU "assault rifle look-a-like ban" gets through you would waste money on that stock.

That said I highly encourage you to sign that petition :

Petition against European Union assault weapons ban

So about the stock ....

I just checked my source and he doesn't have them in stock anymore. Sorry.

If you are really interested you can drop him a mail. His Name is Christian Wampach and the name of his business is LuxGuns.

The look and feel of this stock is outstanding. As is the weight ;) It's more than heavy. It's heavier than the H&K G3 of a friend.
So if you are just getting it for the looks (like me) it's well worth the money. Everything else can be achieved by other stocks as well.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Regards

Marcus
