rampant road 2002

I've been wanting to move to colorado springs for years, and was checking out some shooting spots when I noticed this story.how could the locals here let one of the most beautiful places on earth, become a garbage dump?I highly doubt the gun owners were trucking refridgerators to the sight for targets.anyone want to buy/own/run a shooting range ?:rapid: :2guns: :ar15:

Really something! Now that they closed the range there will be alot more shooting in the illegal areas and more garbage dumped everywhere. As the population increases there will be more of this prohibited shooting area stuff. I would bet none of the people who trashed the place were NRA members or even would think of joining. Maybe it does not matter since we would rather pollute the country with billions of people and develope the great outdoors into condos and parking lots.

Shooting is not a problem there. Get a Pike National Forest map for access. 2/3 of the state, west of the Rockies is National Forest, or BLM land. You can shoot in the National Forest any time you want. Just make shure during big game hunting season you wear hunters orange and have a license. You can find a place within 30 min from the springs especially if you have a suv to escape on the 4 wd trails. I Lived in Colorado for 8 years. It is a beautyful place.

my parents took me to pikes peak in 1977,I was 10 years old.I still remember how beautiful it was.the colorado springs area has stuck in my mind for years since then.I visit it nearly every year, driving up from phoenix to rent cabins in the mountains.to me,there is no place as beautiful as the western united states.I would trade lake erie in on the rocky mountains any day of the week.my wife's parents are retired and she refuses to move away at this time.her first trip to colorado springs was about 5 years ago,and she also fell in love with the area.someday,I'm going to pack up everything and move to the mountains, and build a log cabin and I'll be in heaven.
sorry for the rant:usa:

Cajungeo's right about the shootin' rules, as I understand it this year. For a time, the pressure from above seemed to be to throw everybody off of public forests. And to especially intimidate people with firearms. That pressure seems to be relaxed for now. I find it terribly alarming that public access rights and private property rights are so whimsical that it matters which political party wins the majority in the Senate and the Presidency! We are living in interesting times!

maybe we need to split the states up again.all gamblers move to vegas, all gun owners move to colorado(california is too crowded, and land is too expensive lol),all politicians move to washington and police themselves, every state could have its own motto.thanks to sept 11 attacks, martial law is right on the horizon, funny how it took 200 years to gain freedon, and many lives lost, and 1 lousy event to wipe it all out.I say we clear out all the prisions, hand out some m16's to inmates, and drop them into iraq:):rapid: :2guns: :ar15:
